Although I have been visiting this site numerous times, i joined only today.
i was interested in guns since i was a child. My dad was the reason for my interest and he was the source of all gun related information till now. my dad has a Diana air rifle and H&R SBBL shotgun. i have shot the air rifle lot of times, but still have not let one loose from the shot gun
I have been shooting the Diana air rifle since i was a child, but only targetted bottles filled with water. i have managed to let the water leak many a time
i am very happy to join IFG as it has discussions regarding both my passions, shooting and dogs. i am also interested in picking up any other activity from the forum discussions.
looking forward to learning a lot and having a great time!

Welcome Zenbon to the forum and good to know that u have interest in guns and dogs ( same as me

and many of us). U say you have sbbl but has never shot with it. How come? I remember always arguing and pushing my dad to let me shoot his gun and sometimes he would relent and let me shoot a few shots.
Cheers

yeah, even I troubled him without avail.

He just bought it to relate and cherish his earlier shooting days. He has no intensions of using it frequently. The deal is he got it recently and also reblued it. i have a doubt that he suspects the strength of the barrell after rebluing and does not want to take a risk .

I doubt if bluing will effect the strength of the barrel...

Yep rebluing has no relation to barrel strength, however if he had it (the barrel) "lapped" to remove pits in the barrel that could have an adverse effect... but only if too much material was removed in the course of the lapping process...

Hey Zenbon!
Welcome to the forum!
I can see that nobody has told you about our official initiation system.
Well, here's how it works:
Step 1:
Every new member will have to treat his fellow IFGians in the same region or visiting IFGians at the time of initiation to a nice meal. Some of the R@scals may bend to a beer instead. But most of them wont.
Step 2:
Perform the Amazonian Tribal Rain Dance for Mack The Knife to enjoy. Your enjoyment is inversely proportional to his. So make sure you don't enjoy it one bit!
You have the option of completing the initiation at our next meet once a date is decided.
If you decide not to comply the initiation process, expect the wrath of His High Holiness, The Nawab of Richards Town!
Dont bother finding out who he is. HE WILL FIND YOU.
Hope you have fun bro.
Mo.

Someone has suicidal tendencies...
I think our next meet will be
"MO Memorial Tin Can Bashing"

Thanks for the welcome guys.. The info about bluing is most welcome. Now, my chances of shooting the SBBL look good.

HO HO MO !
i thought the usual process of initiation is to take the newbie out on an orientation trip and make him feel at home!
Something like "hey, cool ! All expenses on the senior IFG !"
As for the tribal dance, i am ready to do it any time ! Considering i do something of the sort every time my company brings in a DJ !
