Just for the record and another chuckle (must turn that knife in a little more. LOL), we had the following sightings....Truly hilarious amigos, the identify the critters and the spin off.
1) Porkers - when pigs fly!
2) Bears - Bear cubs could have been a possibility given the quality of the pic.
3) Deer / Antelope - A visit to the optician is a must for this chap!
4) Primate/monkey (I assume he meant the commonly found Rhesus monkey) - Yawn!
5) Flamingoes - This one most definitely takes the cake!
6) Langurs - A bigger yaaawn!
7) Wild sheep - That does it! Get his eyes checked NOW!
Mind you, I did not add that bit about Pran wondering if they could be spot billed ducks!
Been whistling that tune for years but...it does demonstrate the need to make a pre-hunting course mandatory to all the enthusiasts.

Ah, the smugness of the insufferably sanctimonious.
Tell you what cocker, you go back and have a look at that first picture and then try to forget that you KNOW what the animals are, know how far away they were and took the picture. Then identify them as a pair of Otters. You won`t be able to identify them as Otters - that`s for certain.
And that thing on the right DOES look like a hairy Goat !
I don`t know if you have wild Goats or Sheep in your part of India but certain species DO look like Antelopes or Deer.
When hunting I DO positively identify everything I see before shooting.......and have the advantage of a scope on top of the rifle. Of course the incident with the Bullock was an accident..........and those Sheep.........and the Horse really did look like a Moose.......it was only because it was 3/4 of a mile away with only it`s backside showing that I made the mistake !
Oh dear, now I suppose that Pran won`t realise that I`m joking again...............................................
Otters don`t look like twigs or hairy Goats ( or Flamingoes ) .....except when you take photographs of them !
THIS is what an Otter looks like:

Oi! You missed out the part where you kept misleading me into believing I'd seen them before.

Got this one
>Otters don`t look like twigs or hairy Goats ( or Flamingoes ) .....except when you take photographs of them !
Agreed. But nonetheless please post more 'guess the creature' pics.

Oh yeah, definitely more `spot the species` type posts - but animals taken with a proper camera please........not a breakfast cereal givaway.
The alternative is for Dodger to be really brave and approach the dangerous critters close to........................
I now have this wonderful mental image of Mack The Knife screaming down the track pursued by an irate Otter !

I wish you had been able to identify the otters that easily. LOL.Ah, the smugness of the insufferably sanctimonious.
Assuming one does not know the location, bear cubs or primates are a possibility. The rest of the suggestions were simply ridiculous.Tell you what cocker, you go back and have a look at that first picture and then try to forget that you KNOW what the animals are, know how far away they were and took the picture. Then identify them as a pair of Otters. You won`t be able to identify them as Otters - that`s for certain.
Err... Grumpy, there's only one hairy old billy goat on this thread and he badly needs to get his eyes checked. And that thing on the right DOES look like a hairy Goat !

While we are at hairy old goats who pot horses thinking them to be moose ( in blghty at that!) inspite of having a 6-24 scope sitting at the end of that .223,Otters are a good sign! very positive indication of the fish status!
So next time we see a hairy (old) goat, we know what to call it...
pity, I was just getting used to the antideluvian saurian title.
just doctoring a spin tale...

Oh sh*t !
Walked right into that one didn`t I ?
There`s `only` a 3-9x50 sitting atop my .223.......and we can`t use a .223 for Deer ( or Moose ! ) in England.
Not so `ridiculous` at all Dodger - you know what wildlife you have locally, I don`t.

If the animals in your photograph had been easily identifiable you wouldn`t have asked people to guess what they were.................................
