The Un-loved .38 Spl (Pics)

.38 Special is awesome. I wanted one all my life because everybody had them when I was growing up. I finally bought a used one a few years ago. Not nearly as nice as Herb's but mine is a Model 15 Combat Masterpiece and a little more my speed. No recoil, no noise, extremely accurate. Just a lovely gun to shoot.

I also carry it from time to time because the $100 brown leather heavy stitched holster I got for it looks better than the gun!

I thought that style was exclusive to Model 11 or .38/300 M&P or the M&P Police Airweight? Is it possibly a transition between the moon moon and a ramp?

Bowman as far as I know the half rounded ramp was there in most Model 10s in both standard barrel (that Herb Has) and the heavy barrel. See pic of the the first advt. Herb has posted. Its a 1969 ad and its the same sight his gun has. I believe from this point onwards S&W gradually moved towards the blade sight.

Off topic but could someone please point out to me why my images are visible only as attachments - thanks.

BowMan, you can post most images by clicking the little "Img" tab on top of the reply window (not the quick reply window!). Then, put the link between the "img" and "/img" bracketed BBCode values, including the "http" and backslashes.

The pic should post if all is well and if the pic isn't too big. Also, some coding won't identify the size properly.

Use the "Preview" button at the bottom of the box to see if the pic is visible inside your post.

If you are dealing with a picture that is on the web, you can try to search for another copy. Grab the url for just the picture, and open a google window. Paste the url in the search box and hit the search button. Usually, you will get a result that has "search for image" in blue, and then you can click that link. You should then get search results that show all of the places on the web where that picture is. Maybe one of the other copies of the picture will work.

Alternatively (and with less hassle) just post the link of the picture in your post and let the viewers look up the picture you want. Sometimes that's that only way to do it.
