Hi. Im new. need Help

Post by Akki » Wed Oct 10, 2012 4:28 am

Hi All,
im new to this forum and the training that i want to get into. I always have been interested in learning about weapons and using them (on training grounds only :P). I am from Mumbai and have been working in Bangalore from the past 2 years now. due to many reasons could not even think of getting trained for this. Now that i have the Time , money, Value, Etc for learning weapons i went to the KSRA website and read all about it. then trying to find the fee structure landed on this forum. I if im not mistaken we first have to:-

1 :- Fill the form and get a recommendation letter from KSRA that we need to submit to the Commissioner of police to get it verified.
2 :- after its verified they give u a verification letter that has to be submitted to KSRA with the necessary Documents and fees, etc. then u join.
3 :- then they charge you around Rs1000 for 7 sessions (weekends).

I would like to know if thats all i need or am i missing on something?. I also will be going to KSRA to get the required information. I also did read something about 2 recommendation Letters. i seriously have no idea which recommendation letters they referred to and by Whom??.

Any help or information would be appreciated a lot. Thanks a Lot. :)

It is not KSRA but a private Shooting Academy. Read this post and try the phone numbers listed on the poster in there. If you go further down the post, the owner's name and address are posted by him.

Dear Akki, Welcome. Had you been working in Mumbaithere would have been a few options. Anyway, hope you realize your quest in B'lore. Good Luck.

KSRA does a civilian rifle training every 15 days at their SAI facility. You can find all the details here : http://ksra.in/
You can also call them up for more details.

The procedure to get enrolled in CRT :
1. Visit the SAI facility on a week end with a Address proof(Karnataka Address) and Identity proof and passport photograph.
2. They will give you a Police verification letter. You will need to submit it to the commissioner's office. Fees (Rs 3000) are waived off for KSRA applicants.
3. Wait for some time (2-3 weeks) for the PV to complete.
4. After the PV is done, the commissioner office will forward the report to KSRA. It takes 2-3 weeks.
5. They will call you/ better yet call them and they will put you in the next batch.

The fees have changed(Rs 5000) and is not reflected in the site.

I was supposed to join on Dec 22, 2012 batch but was out of town that week. Waiting to join in the next batch.
Do call them up to get you queries answered.
