Information Required - Gun Man

Hello Friends,


I was working in a private factory and was closed a few years back. I am looking for a job as a security in Some banks or as a Gunman. since guns were my long time passion. So I wantto know information on how to apply for a gun license for the reason of employment? Or is it possible for me to take up such opportunity as a gun man?

I am 56 years old and I was a football player during my school days, but not a graduate. Any help and information would be appreciated.

Gun licenses are usually issued for self defense, sport or crop protection. You can apply for shotgun license for self defense. Since Self Defense is a Fundamental Right under Article 21 of Constitution of India, Section 13(3) of Arms Act 1959 clearly makes it obligatory for licensing authourity to issue a shotgun license/.22 rifle license for protection or sport(provided the applicant is not disqualified under Section 14) I quote the relevant portion of Section 13(3) of Arms Act 1959 below:

"(3) The licensing authority shall grant---

(a) a licence under section 3 where the licence is required---

(i) by a citizen of India in respect of a smooth bore gun having a barrel of not less than twenty inches in length to be used for protection or sport or in respect of a muzzle loading gun to be used for bona fide crop protection:"

Or is it possible for me to take up such opportunity as a gun man?

It is possible but usually security agencies or employers prefer those who have their own weapon. Those without weapon are usually payed less salary.
