thanks gents for sharing your thoughts and ticks as well :D

there is one thing to be ware of when using holster on the hip is that too far to the rear, it can be advised against, what could happen is that someone can put a arm lock on your hand if the handgun was holstered to far back on the hip. almost to the rear pocket, as you reach for the handgun its an easy move from there to apply an armlock,

just a thought on placement of the holster on the hip to far forward is not good as well too far to the rear.

try it out and see what i mean.

I am glad that atleast one gent, besides me, cares to leash the handgun on a lanyard !! Interesting....
If you could also share any other reason for doing so... !!

Well for one, in the 'heat of the moment' a gun could be knocked off by an assailant (or more). Since it is still hanging by the neck, you can bring both arms and legs to bear on the two legged or four legged 'threat' till such time you get an opportunity to grab the gun once again and make it count!

I miss Mehul, Grumpy and Mack The Knife for their writing skills on this one :)

What can I say, there are various modes of carry and each has come about because of a particular need at a particular time, most of them even applicable today at various times. It all depends on your need and lifestyle, you have to first choose your way of carry that suits your lifestyle and then practice with it. With good technique and practice, you can be safe and quick and keep yourself and your loved ones safe with any carry option. I know its a bit too general but with all the info already put in this thread, what else can I say.

Look at this draw, one of my favorites

also double tap at its best.
i practicing double tap with my ashani when ever i can lay my hand on some extra munition.
best way to increase the stopping power.

Yes indeed... double tap at it's best... i too practice the same...

However, such fast draw can be seen in movies only... in between - after he grabs the hand & before he draws the weapon - there is a shot change at 0:02

Doctor it !
