Actually calling me a Bodyguard is like calling a cottage a castle

In this case the Bodyguard being the cottage and the CPO the castle.
Close Protection is a format of highly personalized, close proximity protection built around a person with an assumed or confirmed threat to their life. This would ideally be from assault, assassination or kidnapping. He is trained in a variety of subjects and tactics ranging from reconnaissance, route planning, tactical sweeps of vulnerable areas, securing vehicles and venues, physically escorting a client and many more. Depending on the nature of an assignment a Close Protection Officer is trained to function as a vehicle operator, an armed escort, a counter explosive and surveillance operator as well as an undercover agent. He is also required to understand his ‘Principal’ and cater to their requirements keeping in mind their comfort, reputation and security at all times.
I have received my training and certification from Sweden and London and now operate in India. From this, I also did my tactical shooting in Prague with the Glock17, Hk MP5, Colt M4, AK47 and a few others. I also train and conduct SWAT programs in Bangalore.
I don't come from a police/armed forces background Inder. Its my passion and love for being a SECRET SERVICE agent, that brought me to where I am
Great meeting you here Inder. Do keep in touch.
Regards
Welcome Godrej, Very Impressive Profile you got there , so per my understanding you are a SIA certified CPO and working as private or sole operator as secret service agent also you are using Beretta 92FS , GLOCK 17 , AK's , M4 even MP5SD3 as your armoury . I am really impressed and really like to know how you managed to get such sophisticated firearms here, privately and also how you are managning the laws/legalities associated with them.
Looking to hear more from you and have a very nice time here in IFG.
BTW your website dont provide much information on the types of firearms training / or Firearm category (class III etc )course you provide, apart from Weapon Safety, firearm familiarization and advanced tactics. Would love to know more about it . in Overall Your 4 week course content looks pretty impressive to me.
Thanks and Regards,
Saptarshi

Hi Saptarshi,
Thank you for your message.
Yes I am SIA certified and operate as a Close Protection Officer in India. We operate as teams depending on the threat and risks associated to our clients. These could range from two agents to half a dozen.
The weapons that I spoke about (Glock / Mp5 / M4 / etc) are the weapons I have trained on, ABROAD. They are not a part of our armory. Although we do have the same variants in the RAM formats which we use for training purpose. They do not fire live ammunition. They have been specially imported for our services and training programs. We have received all our clearances for the same.
We are in the process of revamping our website. The new one should go live in a week or so. Please do check again later and I am sure you will have all the information that you want. You can also write to us directly have you any clarification.
Great meeting you here and have fun on IFG

Hi Godrej,
Thanks for the mail. Looks like we have one more CPO among us. Someone else with ID Shaundassey joined IFG.
Is he also from your organization?

Hi Doc,
To be honest, having done a lot of work in the Industry, especially in India, we work on a format of Cover and Evacuate.
No assignment of movement is done without a thorough reconnaissance of the area. Based on that, security plans are made along with contingency and evacuation plans. Also, to have better control over a situation we take into effect various other op specifics (which I cant discuss). For high risk ops we have classified weapons that we carry.
Inder, Yes, Assey is a part of my CPO team.

Can you pl be a little specific....re the classified wpns you carry...given that in our neck of the woods there are Cal restrictions for almost all privately owned fire arms.

Can anyone let me know how one can get a license for security guards? are there any rules/regulations/guidelines where it is stipulated under what circumstances they can use the weapon
You'll have to check that with MHA. Put an RTI and they'll respond to your query. Meanwhile try contacting a fellow member "Godrej" by PM.
