Ah! Asansol!
Gentlemen,
For those of you battening your hatches for the route to ASS and SOUL, may I suggest a few good experiences of the place;
1. For ALL YE FOODIES, Ganga Lunch Home and the fish delights are a MUST. You must experience the joys there.
2. Your route from any hotel will take you past the Railway Colony, (by cycle rickshaw) which was established by the Brits and if you are fond of Brit architecture, you can eyeball the same.
3. The food on the range, just inside and outside the entrance used to be quite tolerable, I dont think you will suffer from it.
4. Not to miss is the Kalika/Chamundi Temple.
5. There is a terrific dam close by, to be travelled via taxi, which takes you through a village, which dishes out really superb hot JALEBIS.
6. Below your hotel, each evening you will be treated to some great bengali sweets. You should try Jhaal Jhol too.
Now coming to the range conditions;
1. The Asansol range has always been the shittiest range on the planet, the light conditions have always been pathetic. It takes a tremendous effort to shoot here, that is why I call Asansol as the ASS and SOUL because it takes both
2. And that is why, I have mentioned the fringe benefits of visiting the place, so you dont feel all that bad after shooting there.
3. You can try your damndest to get good FOCUS, but if you try runing after it (Cancelling till you get reasonably good focus) you will suddenly find yourself running out of time. So just shoot and be damned and enjoy the fish delights at Ganga Lunch Home.
I sincerely hope that I have been very encouraging to you all. I wish you all the very best and wish i was still a non-veggie, perhaps i could have joined you there.
P.S. Dont ever make the mistake of taking your wives or daughters or girlfriends or mistresses to the place, the locals are completely sex starved and rape ALL females regardless of age, with their eyes.
) it will, in all probability be held in Asansol. There are 20 lanes as of date in the 10m range and a minimum of 30 more lanes are supposed to be ready (construction in full swing) before the projected dates of GVM. 
Thanks to you I have ended up "finely" filling in the GVM form and hey - you might just find me there; if not at the incompleted completed lanes, then battling it out with the Gangs of Wasseypore that's close by. 
Next week PTKS-III followed by MSCC the week after. 
. I will arrive in Mumbai on 29th Oct and will return from Mumbai on 3rd November. The best idea will be to leave the planning of events to our Event manager, agn bhai
