Hi IDK,

Welcome to IFG.

Do advise on the Shooting ranges in Kenya.

I do visit Nairobi from time to time and would like to visit the local ranges if possible.

Hello IDK,

welcome to our forum. We would also love to know about the shooting sport in Kenya; the disciplines you shoot, the gun laws (if they are favourable to shooters or not) etc. etc.

best regards

Dear All
Shooting is a very old sport in Kenya, but unfortunately due to gun control and restriction for one to get a weapon is very difficult even air weapons. I shoot mostly .22 rifle, but was requested by club to start shooting air pistol as we don't have the numbers and we need to promote this discipline , hence I've just started and will need lots of help from you guys as we are also trying to start the youth in this program. Our club owns a indoor 25m range and an air weapon range, manual targets. That's the best we can get. Occasionally we use the army range for 50m rifle only.
Hunting is banned , however bird shooting is allowed but with a special license. In neighbouring Tanzania hunting us permitted but very expensive
Additional if you do come to Nairobi , please let me know , I would be glad to take you to the range and show you around
Tirpassion I've been reading the post by hvj1 and all the input you've been giving, I've learnt a lot of basics from this forum , I thank you all , kindly if you could email me the novice training program, would rely appreciate it
And thanks all for the warm welcome
