Hello All,
I am Varun from Hyderabad. I found this site extremely interesting when I was browsing the internet. Glad to see so many enthusiastic shooters

I have few queries ( which might sound very lame considering the serious shooters and members of this community

)
->I am 24 yrs old. I recently got interested in Shooting and would like to take some training or atleast would like to practice at some place. I absolutely have no idea about anything. I found few sites which could help me. "Rifle Association of Andhra Pradesh " to get some practice ,
www.aimco.in site to buy some basic pistols/rifles. Do I need to have a license in order to apply for a membership or buy a pistol/rifle ? Do they consider "Beginners " ?
Please guide me how to go about it.
Thank You !

Varun: welcome aboard, we're glad you've joined us. Shooting is, indeed, an interesting and wholesome activity that has many ways in which one can express interest. Perhaps you might consider starting with an air gun to hone your skills before you decide to take a step further into shooting sports. Someone here may be able to help you with a place to start in Hyderabad.

Couple of more questions
Where can I buy a good pistol ? And which one is a better one to take ?
Also do I have to take any coaching/training ? Or can i just register myself in "Rifle Association of Andhra Pradesh " , go there and practice on my own ?

Vinay, I suggest you open your own thread and introduce yourself as Varun did, rather than piggybacking on his introductory thread.

Hello Timmy,
Vinay is my friend and he replied instead of me yesterday. We both r equally interested in Shooting. Those in fact are questions we both have. I am so sorry for the confusion created. I wouldn't repeat such things.

friend,
if you are looking for an air pistol forget indian make, not worthy.
imported one's are costly but lasts longer.you can check online for the make, price and specification.
you can practice at home if you have a garage or a farm.if you are new, rifleclub should the choice as you can learn shooting as well as safety.

Thank you JK Sir
I went to Secunderabad Armoury shop in Hyderabad. They had only 1 air pistol which was too old and bad which costed around 2000 Rs.
I also visited Asian Arms & Ammunitions Shop in Abids. They had 3 models - 1st ( some batman brand or something he was not sure of ) costing 2000 , 2nd - A Hawk branded basic pistol costing 2400 and the 3rd - Branca costing 4000.
Finally I searched for Indian Hume Pipe Office in Himayat Nagar. I couldn't reach them. No one lifts the call too.
I am just a beginner and am looking a target shooting based air pistol. I've read that the imported ones are too expensive ( I am looking for something lesser than 10K ). Suggest me a decent one suiting my requirements ( please throw some light on the proper models, websites/places to purchase, and the approx. costs too )
Thank you all
