I AM VIYEN AZAVEDO,FROM GOA ,AND HAS BEEN AN AVID READER OF IFG.I AM EX NAVY,AND HAVE FIRED ONLY PROHIBITED BORE,I HAVE RECENTLY ACQUIRED A LICENCE,AND ORDERED FOR .32 IOF REVOLVER.THIS WEBSITE HAS HELPED ME TO MAKE DECISIONS.THANKS TO ALL THE MEMBERS FOR YOUR ADVICE.

please share your experience in how easy/hard it was to get a licence in goa

I am extremely sorry.Well it is impossible to get a gun licence in Goa. I managed because of ex-seviceman status and knew DC personally. He just asks two questions. Self protection ? or crop protection ? I replied employment. said submit an affidavit.I did it. But on the licence it is mentioned self protection.My grandfather was a hunter he had 6 rifles,i was too small then. my father was least interested.My uncle had the licence and the guns transferred on his name, eventually got rid of the guns and surrendered the license.For me it is just pride to own one. i am used to firing .38 revolver and 9mm pistol.i have no idea of civilian weapons.9 mm is a good weapon at close range.accuracy upto 4 mtrs.use a playing card as a target..38 revolver was my favorite.i have seen only pictures of .32 IOF revolver,i hope i will not be disappointed.thanks buddies.
