Chaiatnya,

Welcome to IFG. For the budget you have indicated the best Indian make would be an IHP (experts correct me if im wrong). You can buy one from Aim Point - Bangalore. I was there last Saturday to get my first IHP air rifle and happend to see IHP pistol in stock. They were very reasonably priced.

Welcome to IFG, Chaitanya. I agree with what Reynold has said. You can also buy it from Aimco.

hey Chaitanya,
there are a lot of shops in Bangalore, especially around the NR road (opposite SP Road).. But i have trodded each of those shops a few years back and still have all those business cards that i collected..

Honest opinion..
1) you will not have a wide choice or range to go for in any of them, most places i hit had issues showing a second piece on the models they had (2 years ago) for both Air rifles and pistols.
2) Prices vary widely every 100 mts and every floor! surprising but true,

No blames on anyone, i think thats the way it is!

For the budget you mentioned you can pick one of the IHPs and if you can order it online and get it at door step, go for it.. You get what you ask for which is excellent.

Chaithanya,
go for one of the IHPs. I havent owned them but i have owned and still hold in non working conditions a piece each of both the pics you have posted!
1) Blanca- ( Blr guys asked me 3000 for this few years back, had got it from Kerala for 1300) still consider it a worthless investment. I have owned 2 of them. First things first, Blanca never fired standard 0.177 pellets, and needed Blanca 0.177 slightly smaller than the standard boxed by Blanca itself . (costed Rs 15 for a box of 50 then).. BBs came in tubular box of 200, got 2 of them but the boxes outlived the gun!! :deadhorse:

Target practice \ plinking : you have a 2 action, push down the manual lock lever, pull back the top slide out to cock and push back in the slide to lock. Now load the bb or pellet in a top contraption, and shoot! The pellet is loaded towards the tip of the barrel and has barely 2 inches of travel through barrel before it exits. Add no groves to barrel, the pistol is a disaster to shoot at even 2 meters. Can definitely tear paper ..
Don’t go for these if you want to do target practice, or plinking cans and bottles.. you can even slip over bounced bbs’ and do some considerable damage!

In short its a costly metal bb shooter, not accurate over a meter, can misfire and can go bad faster
than plastic bb guns..

2) The commander pistol, i owned 2 models and currently hold the short barrel version in all black, defintely lacks power compared to the large one, go for the large one if thats the last alternate. and has got some pellets stuck in barrel (no way to get them out now i guess ). fixed sights and targeting can be a slight pain..

Umm . . I do agree with every thing posted above . . however, I would like to ask the purpose of purchasing an Air Pistol . . . If it is for simple recreational plinking in your home or garage.. . all the above examples in "break barrel" are cost effective and would be great ( other than the Blanca of course ) . . However for serious target work you may want to invest in a CO2 type .177 pistol that is also available from IHP . . . .
