Greetings!

Post by yoonus » Thu Oct 04, 2012 1:43 pm

I am Yoonus, a software professional from Tirunelveli, Tamilnadu. Greetings to you all!

Let me confess first, I have never touched a gun before. I am exploring the option to join Tuticorin Rifle Club to learn and shoot. For pure fun. I have no interest in owning a gun. Is it possible for a civilian with no government job to obtain a Police clearance Certificate as required by the club? What are the procedure. Your kind advice would be much appreciated.

Welcome to IFG.
You need not be a public servent to obtain PCC. Just go to nearest police station wihn your id and address proof, give them a letter stating reasion to apply for pcc, they will verify police records, if ur name not found, they will issue a 'whomsoever' pcc certificate. Its actually a 5 mins job for computer operator but they make u visit them 5-6 times. Take some ref to get it smoothly. All the best.

Thank you all for warm welcome and insight.

I have spoken to the secretary of Tuticorin Rifle Club. He said PCC is a requirement. I will try to obtain a PCC from the nearest police station.
