Intro From Canada

Post by NorthEasternArms » Sat Jul 07, 2012 5:07 pm

Hi,

We are a Canadian Manufacturer of AR15 rifles - www.northeasternarms.com

We are looking for a distributor(s) in India to handle our existing anti piracy clients and help us expand into the Indian market, we had no idea that it was so large. A quick google search fof Indian fire arms dealers left me scratching my head as you guys have more dealers then the U.S. The market place appears to be massive.

Sorry to bust your balloon, but according to current Indian Govt. laws, firearms imports for civilians is prohibited. The only exceptions are expatriates returning home and sports men participating in ISSF regulated shooting events.

Moreover, most of the calibres mentioned in your web site would fall under the Prohibited Bore (PB) category. effectively these are prohibited to civilians because they are used by Govt. forces and LE agencies.

I'm not sure where you got your numbers for arms dealers in India, but most are 'dormant' dealers. They renew their licenses regularly but don't conduct much business. Secondly, the numbers of licenses issued is puny in relation to our population and statistical data does not reflect the true state of affairs in this country, as far as civilian ownership of firearms is concerned.

Thank you for the info.

The info on dealers being dorment makes sense now as we found a few directories that listed hundreds of dealers but very few have answered email requests.

Where would i look for a dealer who can help us with the anti piracy sales?

I have done and do business in Gujarat for the aerospace side of our business. Im supposed to visit this coming fall.

Anti piracy operations are carried out by the Indian Coast Guard and the Indian Navy. A search on Google will take to their websites where purchase procedures will be listed.
