hello Folks,
I am a bit confused by the description of the Ashani .32 pistol given as:
'Ashani is externally similar to the Browning 1910, its internal mechanism is based on the Colt 1903'

i mean is that possible...........having an internal mechanism of one gun and the external look of another?and why?

thanks

The ashani pistol is an exact copy of Colt 1903. Kindly go through the info available for Colt 1903.

Colt 1903 has recoil spring under the barrel where as ashani has recoil spring on the barrel therefore it's not exact copy of Colt 1903.

Ashani pistol is not an exact copy of Colt1903 design as rightly pointed by Vineet Armoury but it does has a lot parts common with Colt1903 as shown in this video

Yes, the Ashani is a hybrid design. It takes most of its design cues from the Colt 1903 pistol, being a hammer fired action.

The recoil spring around the barrel is borrowed from the Browning FN 1910 and 1922 design, but those pistols used a striker fired design (true hammerless), unlike the Ashani.

You can see the working of the Ashani pistol here:

This wiki tells about the Browning FN 1910 and 1922 pistols, so you can see the differences:

Don't even think of buying it. Go for the JD Taurus. The parts are made of inferior materials that can't take normal use.

Here are several articles that describe the Remington 51 pistol. All of them make the clear point that the Model 51 IS NOT a blowback action pistol, like the Ashani, but has a unique action all of its own. I will leave out a lengthy description of the Model 51 here and simply list links to pertinent articles that describe this pistol for those who are interested. This is why I said that the youtube author was wrong. A Remington Model 51 would be a very desirable pistol in either 380 Auto or 32 auto.
