JB your friend is a very good photographer. The revolver is so sharp in the image amd the lighting is perfect.

Why doesn't your friend simply use a ruler to measure the caliber?

Looks like the S&W 586 4 inch barrel model , which chambers 6 rounds of .357 Mag / 38 Special +P rounds .

It's best to stay a mile away from the
"massaging hands" of Double-O-Seven

hi f-n-five seven its not a 586 s&w model.in 586 thre is a sylender stop ie when fired that lock prevents the cylender from falling back and brings the next chamber to be fired.every ifgn fello understand that so dont go deep .here what we see in photo there is no grooves on cylender to stop falling of cylender.can a fellow member put light on revolvers without grooves oncylenders thanks

James Bond,
Its a brilliant photograph but to my old eyes it looks like a non-firing (or an airsoft) replica of a S&W made of alloy and not a real firearm that may appear to be out of the box...
There are tell tale signs... a joint where it should not be, disproportional grip panels etc...
But then, I could be wrong... please let us know the truth when you come to know it
Cheers

You really need to read carefully and understand what I am typing .
I typed " Looks like S&W 586 " ; I didn't type " It is the S&W 586 " .
And then I mentioned that the S&W 586 4 inch barrel model ( the real firearm ) chambers 6 rounds of .357 mag or 38 special + P rounds , and provided link to the manufacturer's website .
I never mentioned that the photograph is of none other but the S&W 586 4 inch barrel revolver .

What , in the world , is a
sylender ?
I am taking the liberty of assuming that you meant "Cylinder Stop " . I am aware how a revolver functions , so thanks but no thanks for your lecture .

You are the one who is forcing your "
Sylender stop falling back " theory down my throat , and then telling me not to go deep ?
Interesting .. Interesting indeed ....

I would suggest that the caliber of that revolver is .177 (bb/pellet) or 6.0mm (airsoft).

Bond, with XL-target backing me I think there is little point looking for help to trace the caliber of this wheel gun...
