Indians For Guns

Hi Guys,

I am frm Mumbai and new to this forum. I need some advice.

My dad owns a Beretta P. BERETTA .32 CAL 7.65 MM GARDONE V.T. 1942, licensed pistol. If we want to dispose it off, what is the best way, look for buyers or go to an arms dealer? And what sould be the price we should be expecting for this pistol? No idea as to what is the ongoing rates.

Simple rule of thumb.......Take it to a reputed dealer, tell him you intend selling it, Let him examine it thoroughly (he will be acting it out), Show ignorance to any technical questions asked regarding this particular handgun, take an offer. Multiply the figure by 3/4/5 (in your mind), you'll have a fair idea of the handgun.

The price of semi autos in the present Indian market, especially good makes like Beretta, depends essentially on condition of the weapon and in additional to that on accessories like extra original magazines, original box, original cleaning rod, factory manual etc.
Your dad's pistol is an old model with a single action trigger. But if it is in very good to excellent condition with the original bluing still intact (and has the accessories I mentioned) then it should not sell for anything less than 6.5 to 8 lakh if you are selling to a direct buyer. You can even get more if the weapon is in 95 % original condition.
However dealers will offer you something around 3.5 to 5 lakh. Some may offer even less.
Since I have not seen the pistol I quoted the figures entirely on the basis of present market rates, assuming that the pistol is on good shape, working perfectly, has not been repaired, has no signs of damage/ misuse, retains original bluing etc etc. So please do your own research. I just tried to offer a guideline.

The best thing is ask the dealer for the price of a gun as though you are intending to buy one. Tell him the specifications of your gun (as though these are the things that you need). You will be surprised at the price that he will quote!!!!!!
