Indians For Guns

hello guys !! i am new to this FORUM ....

i had served my mother nation for 5 yrs in THE INDIAN NAVY ...and now retired. i want an IMPORTED revolver with me. Guns Like COLT(revolver) GLOCK (pistol) etc ......what must i do to get my hands unto this GUNS in INDIA ???

do i need some special permits to carry or owning a COLT ???

is it valid in INDIA to carry a COLT ??

Note - i viewed a govt site ...where it is strictly given that LEGAL ARMS for CIVILIANS must not be more than .32mm
Note- i dont want the PRICES of the above given GUNS ....i just need the INFO how to own it in INDIA ..!!

Pls take pemission from MHA about a P Bore Revolver or Pistol and cary throughout India with a All India License.

After 5 years in the armed forces it would be fair to expect one to know at the very least, the utter basics of firearms and gunnery.... but .32 mm ? that's pretty small.... ... In any case, the thing about civilian bores should not be more than .32 is utter bullshit... and the government website in question obviously doesn't have a clue about what its talking about.

Colt is a brand and not a specific firearm ... and yes of course, colt revolvers have a pretty good reputation though most of which are available in India would be very old and mostly in .32", though .38spl and .357 are encountered at obscenely high prices. A normal Form III license is all that is required to possess an NPB Colt revolver or any other NPB firearm thereof.

Glocks are not revolvers.

Glock's that are in India are largely in 9mmx19 which is PB. and all are in Government use. They are virtually unavailable in the civilian market in India.

Import of firearms have been banned by the finance ministry since 1986. So most (not all) imported NPB firearms would be almost of 30 years vintage or older.

the officer here seems to be a lady probably served in Short Service in logistics cadre but still basic knowledge of fireams and gunnery.

Guys, the Navy doesn't really mess around with small arms that much, except for a few units. It would be perfectly understandable for an average sailor or officer to come out of the Navy with minimal small arms experience.

Unfortunately, ma'am, it is not possible to import small arms into India (except for some special circumstances) any longer. You will have to make do with what is already on the market when the import of small arms were shut off. I would suggest that you try applying for an NPB pistol or revolver license first. Once you get that, it becomes more feasible to talk about acquiring a handgun.

first of you need to apply for a npb handgun licence with you local authorities, and that would
be DC or police commissioner's office etc. Then if you do get a licence after a few months of
struggle, you can start looking for a COLT and buying a peice like it all depends on your budget.
and it sure would be more than 30-60 years old and there are no and i mean absolutely no Glocks
available for civilians in India.
about the .32, its suggested by most of the people cause of the easy availability or the lack of
knowledge.

Are people from the navy eligible for getting NSP firearms? if yes,then you can apply for one.Paying Rs.250/- or thereabout beats having to pay Rs.5-28 lakhs.

Another route would be to find some one selling a NSP firearm.Their sale to general public has been stopped.Maybe you can get permission to buy it being a former armed forces officer and thus eligible to own one.

Madam Top gun,
Being an ex navy person , I suggest you get an arms licence in the first place and depending on you need / preference, go in for a BRAND NEW a pistol or revolver from IOF. Why take the risk of getting antique or junk at non realistic prices .

i have used in my training programme and while i was in SERVICE ....AUTO BROWNING PISTOL ....( the only small arm)

other than that .......as you all know ....MILITARY does'nt encounters much with SMALL ARMS .....and that is the problem ....i have a very little knowledge abt SMALL arms in CIVIL .

ask me abt MMG ....LMG ...BALLISTA ....RPG........i will love to give u the full details !!!

If you are retired from the Navy, you'll have to apply as a civilian. So the NSP route is closed for you. Suggest you concentrate on acquiring a license first. Thats likely to take some time. Once you have that coveted booklet in your hands opt for an IOF made weapon, preferably a pistol, assuming you are a lady.

And frankly, give up those Dirty Harry dreams. Arms owners should be a responsible lot.

ballista is a BALLISTIC MISSILE ...that launches from a LAUNCH PAD ....and have a POWER to deliver one or more WARHEADS in a TERRITORY ...* warheads means CL20 not a NUCLEAR
