Bergmann 1896

Post by Mayankjaiswal » Tue Jan 24, 2012 9:23 am

Hey Friends,
I recently came a cross a Bergmann 1896 pistol .32. Its in a very good condition inspite of being such an old weapon. I wanted to know if it had an antique value and what price should it come for. I had emptied a full mag. It worked good.

To the right collector, it would be worth quite a bit. But so would be the cartridges. I am amazed that you could find any shells for it, and that they functioned. Or would this pistol be a conversion to .32 ACP?, in which case its value to a collector of Bergmann pistols would be zero. These Bergmann pistols normally used a Mannlicher style loading clip; and a distinct cartridge.

Mayank,

Interesting though it might look, I think it has been converted to fire .32 acp ammo.

Yep.It's been butchered.Stay away from it.Sure it goes bang but can you hit anything with it.The IOF .32 would be any day better than this.
