Rajat,
Very nice. You would be happy to know that the Hi Standard pistol was recently put back into production some 7 or 8 years after the company stopped manufacturing it because of persistent demand. It is a popular little handgun and your choice is a very nice one.
Congratulations and good shooting!

thanks,
yes i was aware that high standard is now back in business.
i did shoot a few rounds and discovered that at 25 yards, i produce group sizes that i would not care to make public
it make quite a lot of noise as well, atleast when compared to a 22 rifle.
i am looking to get a red dot sight for it from the US. it seems to have slots on the sides just ahead of the slide. however it will need 5/8 " rings. i though rings only come in 3/8 and 7/8 inche sizes ?
well lets see what the can be done.

Rajat,
The Brno Model 1 .22lr has 5/8" dovetails and mounts are available for these.

Rajat,
Cangratulations on finding a pistol in good condition.Indian .22 ammo causes problems in pistols as it does not have the kick to cycle the slide properly.I always have had a jamm every second or third shot in .22 pistols with KF ammo. One thing that you can try with Indian ammo is to keep it out in the sun on a piece of paper for a 10-15 minutes and then use it.Enjoy your new buy.

Congrats,Good one Rajat.
I am also i very big fan of HS.It is a very ideal handgun for target practising.
As penpusher wrote ,KF ammo do couse problem some time, but u can use them in the same manner as he wrote or u can keep them on paper and give little warming with Hair dryer.
Is this Cut made for mounting optic sight factorymade??i think it is made later.

hi,
i used kf ammo only and it worked fine, of course i fired very few shots.
i dont know if the cuts were made later. the pistol was made in the early 1940's anything could have been done in the past 60 years.
if its got the same size of mounting as the brno mod1 the find scope rings should be very easy

That's assuming you are right about the 5/8" dovetail grooves.

Hi, While looking for .22 rifle,i came across a Savage high capacity rifle(haven't seen it yet). The arms dealers i enquired with told me it is an absolute bore. The owner has offerd adopters. Is high capacity ammunition availiable ? what should be its ideal price? I have been told it is in good condition.
