Obviously Pistol is looking slick and nice rather than revolver.
Firearms are not for decoration and hence not evaluated by their looks but by their reliability and performance. AK 47 is not very good looking but nobody complains about its looks because of its extreme reliability and performance for the intended purpose.
1) Wether to buy a pistol or revolver?
It is a matter of personal preference. I will mention the common positive and negatives of each of them.
Positives of pistol:
1) Slightly higher cartridge capacity than revolvers. Example IOF .32 pistol magazine has 8 cartridge capacity as compared to IOF .32 revolver having 6 cartridge capacity in its cylinder. But IOF .22 revolver has 8 cartridge capacity in its cylinder. Cartridge capacity in pistols can be further increased by using a longer magazine. To get an idea about how pistol magazine looks like you can see the video at

2) Since there is no gap between the chamber and barrel, pistols develop slightly higher chamber pressures causing muzzle velocity to be slightly higher than that of a revolver firing similar cartridge.
3) The trigger pull in double action is lighter when compared with revolver.
Negatives of pistol:
1) Misfire of one cartridge does affect the firing of next cartridge. You will have to manually clear the cartridge so that next cartridge from the magazine gets fed. If cartridges are not feeding properly due to various reasons including magazine not properly fitted or working, you may have to refit the magazine into pistol properly or replace the magazine. This can take sometime and is not something good in close self defense situations when your life and death is depending on fractions of seconds.
Positives of revolver:
1) Misfire of one cartridge does not affect the firing of next cartridge. All you have to do is press the trigger again, the next cartridge gets fired. This is something good in close self defense situations when your life and death is depending on fractions of seconds.
Negatives of revolver:
1) Slightly lower cartridge capacity than pistol
2) Since there is a gap between the chamber and barrel, revolver develops slightly lower chamber pressures causing muzzle velocity to be slightly lower than that of a pistol firing similar cartridge.
3) Trigger pull in double action is heavier when compared with pistol
4) If revolver falls on hard surface, it can cause misalignment of cylinder with barrel.
2) If Pistol....than what should be the minimum budget for good quality pistol? ( and maximum too)
Minimum IOF .32 pistol around Rs 85,000 is the cheapest pistol in Indian legal arms market. As usual for IOF products, quality is variable but can be corrected by a good gunsmith. Maximum has no limit or any rational yardstick, since imports of firearms are restricted since 1986.
3) If Revolver...than what should be the minimum budget for good quality revolver? ( and maximum too)
IOF .22 revolver around Rs 46,000 is the cheapest revolver in Indian legal arms market. Similar to IOF products as usual quality is variable. Maximum has no limit or any rational yardstick, since imports of firearms are restricted since 1986.
4) where can I practise for the gun?
In any firing range closest to your residence. If you want to know the specific name and address, you can either search "Shooting Clubs & Associations in India" on the main page of this website. If you are still not able to find, you may PM any of the members near to your place of residence.
