Relevant for the Indian Handgun owner as well. Remember an average Indian Handgun owner is much, much, less trained than an Israeli.

This subject has been discussed at length 12 years ago, here:

viewtopic.php?f=14&t=16984

and there are still people on both sides of the question. I have not at all changed my mind from my point made when I said:
A loaded firearm is a weapon.

An unloaded firearm is a paperweight.
One thing that has not been mentioned, but which I've observed at the range, is that when racking the slide to chamber a round, it is not unknown for there to be failures to feed. Under the stress of an attack or threat, it is possible to short stroke the slide or in some other way to have malfunction. HAving a round in the chamber means just that -- having a round in the chamber, ready to go.

Regarding the Ashani 32 Auto, the problem is that it isn't safe to carry with a round in the chamber because the safety isn't reliable. The conclusion to be drawn from this contradictory situation is unpleasantly clear, but at least there are more choices now that can resolve the carry issue.

Rather than beat this subject to death, I suggest that anyone unsure of how to address this matter should review the old thread linked above. As can be seen, there's no new information to be added to either side of the discussion.
