That is very poor advice. Unless you are thoroughly familiar with all the variables involved, pressure limit of the cartridges, dimensions of cartridges, bore dimensions of the gun, cartridge the gun is designed or chambered for, etc.; NEVER fire a cartridge in a gun that it is not chambered for. Just because you can stuff a cartridge into a chamber and make it go bang, does not mean it is safe to do so. Just because some idiot has been doing so for years, and still has all his fingers, does not mean it is safe. In the case of the .32 S&W Long cartridge, your .32 Revolver, the .32 ACP has considerably higher pressure. And eventually that will tell on the gun.
The statement "diff is only tat is rimless." is just plain wrong and ignorant. The two cartridges differ in just about all dimensions and parameters. Yes, it can be done. But should it be done...NO!
You may know someone who has run the red light at intersections all his life, and never been in an accident. But would you do likewise, or recommend it to others? Before making recommendations on this forum, you should be sure of your facts.
