May his eternal soul find peace with the almighty.
Many of you would have seen his posts here, interacted with him and maybe even have been lucky enough to get to know him offline.
On the boards he was always helpful, polite and happy to share his knowledge. For those who knew him offline, he was a treasure trove of anecdotes, gossip (not the sleazy kind, just outdoors related) and everything related by him with a good dose of humour.
I recall some great conversations with him, discussing the old days, how things were done and what could be a good way forward for wildlife conservation in India. Like most old shikaris he had a passion for conservation, which can't be compared, unless someone has spent those days and nights in the jungle...
He was lucky enough to have collected some really fine guns during his lifetime, which he took great care of and was happy to share with friends.
He was also a renowned shot in multiple disciplines, something he shrugged off as immaterial - having achieved so much else in life.
His passing was untimely and really sudden, can only wish his closest ones the strength to bear this immense loss.
God bless his soul.
