Re: News that matters
Very unfortunate if the owners of such an old establishment are indeed involved. Seems unlikely. May be, some employees turned rogue when they found their owners to be hardly interested in this unprofitable business.
I mean, it's very hard to believe that guys inheriting such a legacy would indulge in such a criminal activity.
The article is about old firearms and ammunition being stolen (usually weapons are deposited by family members of deceased relations as they can't be least bothered about keeping these weapons). In the long run, these weapons gather rust as the depositor is too busy with his sundry life to reclaim the weapon. On the other hand, the poor guy owning the gun shop keeps getting pelted with losses due to the licensing rules of our country. Now, under such circumstances, it really doesn't require much imagination to say that the likely poorly paid employees of such an establishment will exploit the opportunity to sell what they consider junk.
On the flip side, even if the owners were not complicit to or blissfully unaware, they are also accountable.

Unfortunately, the so-called reporter using the words 'unlicensed airgun' is an idiot and should be fired from his/her pathetic excuse of a job.
Such news only demonises even airguns. I mean, even a good hard punch to the sternum can kill, but outlawing such a punch is a no-brainer.
Sensationalising the news about such freak Airgun incidents like this Indian Express reporter has done only fuels the fire of these so-called retards who grew up with a slavish mentality and never touched a firearm, or even an Airgun. Unfortunately, these people have spread into society (rather, eaten into) like a malignant form of cancer.
A little kid could kill his/her sibling by innocently pushing him/her down the stairs. But society won't ban the stairs.
But, most people will jump in to bay like asses against guns if there is even a negligent discharge without casualties.

Dear Sir,
Even I noticed that, he might have ment "underage" or" kids" or he is un aware of gun licence law of India like many others, even though airgun does not required licence in India you need a identity proof to purchase one like your Adhar card for age restriction I guess.
Close range is fatal for kids and small animals, cause severe injuries even in airsoft guns, And in any projectile weapon like catapult also.
Kids handling airgun or any weapon need a strict supervision of adults parents or coach or handlers as they are unknown of the consequences and danger involved in it.
Here a family lost there kid very unfortunate incident.
